Robo Dawgs

Grandville High School Robotics 2008 Season

The Grandville High School Robotics Team, RoboDawgs, is currently in its Tenth year of operation. We are a group of students with one common goal: to learn. For the second straight year, we are pleased to welcome Byron Center High School and Calvin Christian, as a group of their students join our team.

The RoboDawgs are a part of the F.I.R.S.T. Robotics Organization. As such, the learning experience isn't just how to build a robot- it is a conglomeration of ideas, and life lessons.

F.I.R.S.T. has always had one main goal: to provide students with the skills they need to be successful in their lives. Grandville RoboDawgs believes in this philosophy. While the life lessons learned are valuable- the actual competitions are the highlight of the season. The RoboDawgs travel around the country to various F.I.R.S.T. Competitions- notably Nationals. In the past, we have had a lot of success at these competitions. In 2004, we were one win away from the National Quarterfinals, the highest we have ever reached within the National competition. This year, we hope to build on that success, and with the help of the mentors we have, and the ingenuity of the students, we will.
